Auxito LED Reverse light Install

So the Mods begin! This was just a simple item that had been bugging me with my truck. I had removed all of the Non LED's in the cab and backup lights on the truck. I really love the look of the factory setup on the rear taillights. The LED taillight options all look a little too busy for my taste. This may be because I come from the Altezza tail light era where anything but OEM looks weird to me. Please enjoy my how to install the Auxito Bulbs. It's a stupidly simple install but it takes a couple of extra steps to ensure that you don't scratch your truck or break the little tabs which bug everyone I'm sure. Step 1. Walk up to your tailgate and open it up. Seems simple enough.

Step 2: after opening up the tailgate you'll see the 2 T30 bolts holding the taillight in. You'll need a Torx. ***DO NOT USE AN ALLEN*** or you'll have a fun time figuring out how to remove a stripped bolt. When those bolts are off you will notice the taillight stays in place. Do not yank this out as you could break the little tabs attaching the front of the tail light to the bed!

Step 3: Grab a flat head screw driver and stick some painter's tape on the sides of the screwdriver like below.

Step 4: You'll notice a little tiny cutout at the top of the tail light on the side of the bed as below. Your flathead with painter's tape will fit perfectly in this location. You'll pull twist the screw driver and the post will pop out of the plastic clip! So simple yet annoying if you just try to wrestle it off.

Step 5: You will see another slight opening towards the middle of the taillight on the side of the bed. Stick your screw driver in that little opening.

Step 6 Now that the taillight popped out you can access the connections in the back of the tail light. you can replace all 3 but I removed the middle one to get that bright reverse light when backing up at night.

Step 7 Pull out the middle old nasty Halogen bulb and replace with the new Auxito bright white hotness!

Step 8: Install the connection back into the taillight and Installation is reverse of removal.

Step 9: Ensure you place the little metal clips back in their spots carefully and reinstall the screws from steps 2 with the T30 Torx.
